Wynn Vale, S.A., Sep. 7, 2021 /Medianet/ --

A function to officially open the King’s Community Centre will be held on Tuesday 14th September. The King’s Community Centre is a joint venture between King’s Baptist Church and King’s Baptist Grammar School. The Centre, which is quickly becoming a hub for community activity, comprises an Early Learning Centre, a new café called ‘milk + honey’, a 500-seat auditorium and various meeting and convention rooms.

Construction of the new facility lasted some 12 months and engaged local businesses and contractors including architectural firm, Mountford Williamson Architecture and builder, Ian Duncan.

In addition, the $9.75 million build houses a dedicated youth space, children’s playgroup area and several multipurpose rooms designed for community activities and events and is home to King’s Baptist Church. Family Ministry Director, Laura Carson, is excited by the opportunity for increased community engagement offered by the new Community Centre: “It’s not hard to see how much of an impact this Centre is already having and will continue to have on our community.”

The Community Centre is also home to the King’s Baptist Grammar School Early Learning Centre [ELC]. The ELC already has more than 100 students enrolled and employs 16 local educators and support staff, a number which is expected to grow as the community grows.

“The ELC creates a light-filled and welcoming space for the youngest members of our community,” Business Director, Darren McDonald, says. “Enrolments have been strong, and we are pleased to now offer the King’s learning experience to 3 and 4-year-olds.”

The Official Opening will be celebrated with local Members, Tea Tree Gully Council, and construction partners involved in the development.
