WHAT:
The City of Sydney is calling for new ideas to boost the diversity of housing across the city, with a focus on identifying and developing new models to increase the supply of alternative and affordable housing.
The Alternative Housing Ideas Challenge encourages new ways of thinking about housing across delivery, financing, design, building, ownership and management. It seeks to uncover fresh ideas and successful international models that could work locally and for the wider community.
The challenge is open
to everyone, including individuals and teams from around the world. A jury will
select up to six entrants to receive $20,000 each to develop their concepts.
This briefing will answer questions from people entering the challenge and outline why Sydney needs to look beyond traditional categories of social, community and market housing. The panel of experts will share their experiences and insights.
